Arya Naik began his entrepreneurial journey as a freshman at Montclair State University. With no capital, he turned to YouTube to teach himself digital marketing. Looking for experience, he reached out to a startup called Gen Z&U and offered to manage their email marketing for free. That hands-on project opened the door to paid work, including building a website and booking system for his local barber. Earning that first payment gave him clear proof his skills could bring real value and that this work had room to scale.
Soon after, he experimented with product sales, customizing G-Shock watches based on online tutorials and reselling them through Facebook Marketplace, Etsy, and Macari. Some orders reached over $250. He operated under the name TimeTinkerer, a personal brand that stuck as he shifted back into services.
The turning point came when he realized local businesses had real pain points, outdated systems, no marketing strategy, and no lead flow. Arya began helping barbers, salons, dentists, real estate agents, and physical therapists set up simple but effective infrastructure: online booking systems, automated funnels, and Meta ad campaigns that drove new customer acquisition.
Through TimeTinkerer, Arya and his team now handle the full lifecycle of Meta advertising, from strategy and creative to optimization and lead management. This allows small business owners to focus on operations while his agency brings in consistent deal flow.
One of the first major wins came from working with Jacob Ntia, his barber. Arya built a custom scheduling system that streamlined client bookings, reduced no-shows, and gave visibility into performance. That project led to more referrals and increased demand across other industries.
While building the business, Arya also started documenting his process on YouTube. His content focused less on polish and more on process, what was working, what wasn’t, and how he was adjusting. One early video exploring why young people aren’t reading gained unexpected traction and helped grow his online following.
Today, TimeTinkerer continues to scale through word of mouth and performance. Arya’s approach is centered around execution and transparency, not flash. He currently leads the company while expanding its presence both locally and online, one small business at a time.
