A new community-based healthcare initiative, K-day PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), has officially launched in Los Angeles’ Koreatown. The program offers comprehensive, culturally tailored care designed to help seniors live healthier, more independent lives — combining medical, rehabilitative, and social support under one coordinated system.
Backed by U.S. federal and state healthcare programs, PACE is a model that integrates medical, preventive, and daily care services for older adults who require long-term support. The K-day PACE center provides these services directly in the heart of the community, addressing the growing need for accessible, coordinated elderly care.
Comprehensive “One-Stop” Care
The newly opened K-day PACE facility spans over 10,000 square feet, featuring medical offices, rehabilitation areas, activity spaces, and consultation rooms. The interdisciplinary team includes physicians, registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians, and care coordinators who work together to develop personalized care plans.
In addition to on-site services, the program provides home-based care for participants with mobility limitations — including in-home medical visits, nursing support, meal delivery, daily living assistance, and transportation. A 24-hour emergency response system ensures continuous monitoring and timely intervention when needed.
A Family-Centered Approach to Senior Wellness
Dr. Youngbin Im, Medical Director of K-day PACE and a board-certified geriatrician, explained the mission behind the center:

“Research shows that seniors supported by a family physician or coordinated care system experience better health outcomes. At K-day, our goal is to extend that sense of family — providing compassionate, all-inclusive care that honors the dignity of every elder we serve.”
The name “K-day” reflects two guiding principles: ‘K’ for the Korean community and ‘day’ symbolizing vitality and continuity of life, reinforcing the program’s vision to create brighter days for seniors and their families.
Empowering the Korean-American Community
As the first PACE program in Los Angeles dedicated to serving the Korean senior population, K-day represents a milestone in culturally competent healthcare. By bridging language and cultural barriers, the program allows families to access a seamless continuum of care in a setting that respects their values and traditions.
K-day PACE plans to expand outreach efforts through partnerships with local clinics, churches, and community organizations to ensure seniors across Los Angeles can benefit from its holistic care model.
