A new platform for family events in Alabama has launched with a one-person team and a heavy reliance on artificial intelligence. BamaList, founded in Birmingham, features more than 80 events and activities for families, from Birmingham to Huntsville to Gulf Shores. The site aims to solve a common problem: events are scattered across various outlets, making it hard for parents to stay up to date without spending hours searching.
“I started BamaList because we’re parents of four kids, and instead of letting them be on their devices, we decided to find ways for them to get outside and experience more,” said Greer Hall, founder of BamaList. “The problem I found is that events are listed at various outlets, and it wasn’t easy to stay up to date without spending hours searching for ideas. BamaList is the solution: one destination for the best things to do with your kids.”
The platform is a one-person operation that uses AI in virtually all its applications. AI helped create the website and launch the email newsletter program. Each week, AI adds new events to the site. It also built the CRM platform used to develop brand partnerships with local companies, with AI agents that find and manage outreach. This approach allows a single founder to operate a statewide events guide.
BamaList provides a weekly event roundup newsletter to hundreds of subscribers. The site attracts thousands of website visitors each week. Within weeks of launching in June 2026, the company added hundreds of email subscribers and thousands of social media followers, closing in on 8,000 on Instagram.
Parents and grandparents across Alabama use BamaList to find fun experiences that make lasting memories. The platform focuses exclusively on family events, which the founder says sets it apart. “While we have many competitors, we are the only brand focused only on family events,” Hall said. “This gives us unique positioning in that over time, we believe we’ll become the destination for ‘what’s going on in Alabama.'”
For families looking for family-friendly events in Alabama, BamaList offers a single destination to plan their next adventure. The site covers events in Birmingham, Huntsville, Gulf Shores, and other parts of the state. The weekly newsletter helps subscribers stay informed without having to search multiple sources.
Hall’s own experience as a parent of four drove the creation of the platform. “BamaList is exactly what parents have been missing: an easy way to find new things to do that enrich their kids’ lives with new experiences, while fostering curiosity, and exploring the place where they live, whether it’s across town or the state of Alabama,” Hall said.
The company’s use of AI extends beyond event listings. The CRM platform, built with AI, supports brand partnerships with local companies. AI agents handle outreach, which helps a small team manage partnerships efficiently. This technological backbone allows BamaList to operate with a single founder while still providing a comprehensive guide to family events.
With hundreds of email subscribers and thousands of social media followers, BamaList has quickly gained traction since its June 2026 launch. The site’s focus on family events and its use of AI to curate and manage listings positions it as a resource for Alabama families. As the platform grows, it aims to be the go-to source for what’s going on in the state.
