A new personal injury law firm has opened its doors in Santa Cruz, bringing decades of trial experience to accident victims throughout the Central Coast region. Gazipura Law, founded by attorney Rick Gazipura, officially launched operations at 500 Chestnut Ave, Suite 100C, offering specialized legal representation for serious injury cases.
The firm serves clients across Santa Cruz, San Mateo, and Monterey Counties, focusing on complex personal injury matters including car accidents, truck collisions, rideshare injuries, pedestrian accidents, childhood sexual abuse cases, and traumatic brain injury claims.

“I always maintain the dignity of all my clients,” said Rick Gazipura, founding attorney. “Personal injury victims have been through a lot by the time they come to me. They deserve justice, and I fight to win the maximum compensation possible for each one of them.”
Gazipura brings more than 15 years of legal experience to his practice, including extensive trial work as both a public defender and private attorney. The Santa Cruz native earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Business minor from UC Berkeley before completing his law degree at Santa Clara University School of Law.
During his law school tenure, Gazipura received the Witkins Award for achieving the highest grade in his Trial Techniques course and earned recognition for his volunteer work at the Katherine and George Alexander Free Legal Clinic with a Pro Bono Award.
After passing the bar in 2008, Gazipura dedicated nearly a decade to public service, working as a public defender in Inyo County from 2009 to 2012, Tulare County from 2012 to 2013, and Santa Cruz County from 2013 to 2017. His service in Inyo County earned him special recognition with a plaque honoring his “Exemplary Service to Inyo County and its Community.”
Throughout his career in both public defense and private practice, Gazipura has managed thousands of cases and tried numerous misdemeanor and felony matters, establishing himself as a skilled negotiator with substantial courtroom experience. He transitioned to personal injury representation in 2020 after entering private practice in 2017.
“I have a desire to serve my community in a greater capacity and build something that will eventually involve many of my family members who are also in the legal profession, a true legacy,” Gazipura explained regarding his decision to establish the firm.
Beyond legal representation, Gazipura Law provides comprehensive support services for injury victims, including connections to qualified medical and psychiatric professionals when necessary. The firm offers free initial consultations for all prospective clients to evaluate their cases.
The opening of the Santa Cruz personal injury firm marks a significant addition to the local legal community, particularly for residents seeking experienced representation for serious accident and injury claims.
