Ontario-based entrepreneur and online business coach Wendy Nolan has been named Digital Marketing Innovator of the Year, recognizing her remarkable achievement of generating more than $650,000 in her first year online and building a multiple seven-figure business that now helps adults over 50 create income through digital channels.
After spending decades in traditional employment, Nolan made the decision to leave her 9-to-5 position at age 55—not as a leap of faith, but as a calculated move into an online business she had already built during nights and weekends while still working full-time. Her success in that first year allowed her to retire years ahead of schedule and focus entirely on growing her business and teaching others her proven methods.

What sets Nolan apart in the digital marketing space is her focus on a demographic often overlooked: adults over 50 who want to build a flexible income that does not depend on a traditional job. Through her coaching programs and YouTube to Profits course, she demonstrates that age and technical experience are not barriers to success in the digital economy. Her students range from their 50s to their 80s, many of whom had never posted video content before working with her.
“I wasn’t looking to become an entrepreneur. I was looking for a better retirement,” Nolan explains. That search led her to study digital marketing and affiliate marketing in the hours around her full-time work, eventually creating a business model she now replicates with her students.
Central to Nolan’s approach is what she calls her “Magnetic” content strategy. Rather than following generic marketing formulas, she teaches students to leverage their own life experiences and stories—assets she believes make people relatable and memorable online. This philosophy stems from her own journey building an audience through honest, story-driven content filmed from home without a studio or professional equipment.
Students consistently credit Nolan’s direct teaching style and step-by-step systems as the catalyst for finally taking action. One student in her 80s began posting long-form video for the first time after years of hesitation. A married couple in their late 50s and 60s simplified their content creation from posting multiple times daily across several platforms to producing just one to two YouTube videos per week, achieving better results with the more sustainable approach.

Nolan’s business now operates at the seven-figure level, allowing her to work from home, travel with her husband, and spend time with her three granddaughters. Her mission centers on helping others create options for their future by learning digital marketing skills that generate income from anywhere, proving that retirement doesn’t require settling for less. As she puts it: “You’re not too old. You’re not too late. You simply need a roadmap and the willingness to take the first step.”
The Canadian educator continues to expand her reach through her coaching programs, online community, and YouTube channel, where she teaches affiliate marketing and content creation strategies specifically designed for people who may be short on tech experience but bring decades of valuable life experience to their online presence.
